The day was October 23rd, 3013, My name is Zelda, and my 18th birthday was now only 8 days away. I was sitting on the deck of my brother Zephyr???s house. His house had everything you could want in a house in the year 3013.
It had a self-cooking kitchen, and a closet that dressed you every day. The house cleaned itself, and robots served you all day long. He also had a suction elevator linked to every single room in his house ??? sort of like the elevator in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
I sighed as I leaned back against his porch swing, beginning to day dream about life in the past again. The past fascinated me to high extents; I???d always wanted to travel there, and experience it for myself.
Travelling to the past was extremely dangerous, and highly risky. When you travel to the future, there are still time machines to be able to bring you back home, but when going into the past, technology there isn???t quite advanced enough ??? if you travel to the past, you never come back.
The modern simplicity of the past was amazing. Everyone would do everything themselves, cook, clean, serve, etc. There weren???t any robots, nor was there technology to assist you. Once you turned 18, you were then able to obtain your TTP, or ???Time Travelers Pass??? which meant that you were able to move out on your own, and to any year you wanted to. I chose the year 2000 for myself over 6 years ago, when we studied it in school.
Zigana, my best friend of 8 years offered to help search for my home from the year 2000. She brought over her collection of newspapers that her dad had sent to her and together we searched for the best sounding houses. We managed to narrow it down to two, and soon I had chosen my new home.
Over the next few days I prepared myself for the big move. I packed and micro-shrunk all of my items, fitting them all into a single backpack. I was going to miss the future and everyone in it ??? especially Zindel. I???ve had a thing for him ever since the first time we met. I still remember the way the light shone perfectly against his spiked black hair which partially covered his perfect skin and icy blue eyes. Zindel is a full six foot four; I just barely reach his chest at my five foot five. Whenever he sees me he picks me up and swings me around, my long blonde hair flowing in the wind. He???s always told me how he loves my big green eyes and imperfect skin, I could never understand why though. Before I knew it, Halloween, and my date of birth had arrived. I hopped onto my hover board and went to the ITC (Inter-Universal Transportation Center) to officially obtain my TTP. The officials at the ITC had me fill out multiple forms with every detail they could ever possibly need about me. Once they had all the forms completed, they stuck their official stamp in the upper right corner and sent it away to the headquarters of time travel. I picked up my bag and sat in the Travel Pod which had my name on it. The officials zapped the pod, and instantly I was transported to my destination of the year 2000. It felt like only a matter of minutes before I arrived, I picked up my bag and headed towards the address listed on the classified ad I had gotten from Zigana. The house was absolutely stunning, everything I had read about the past was true - I still couldn???t believe that I was really here; it all seemed too good to really be true. I quickly unpacked my wardrobe and furniture, using my multi-use bracelet to resize my belongings to full size.
took myself on a tour of my new home. After about an hour or so of self-exploration, I decided I should give cooking a try. I found supplies all around the kitchen, and began to experiment. I was about to put my food into the pre-heated oven, when I noticed a peculiar smell coming from inside of the oven.
I opened the oven door to reveal the remains of a body cooking. I was in shock, I couldn???t move, all I could do was stare at the horrific sight. I quickly shut the oven off and decided I should inspect the other areas of my new home a little more closely. I checked the laundry room next, and I noticed an odor similar to the one that I had smelled in the kitchen.
I opened the door to the dryer, and an arm fell out. I was now seriously suspicious about the previous owner of the house. After seeing the second dead body I ran down into the basement, only to find 4 more bodies. The smell of them all made me vomit all over the floor. I bolted out of the house and into the backyard; I couldn???t believe what I saw next.
The backyard was full of miniature gravestones, all made by the previous owner. I wanted to call the police on the maniac that used to live here, but I had no contact information on them, I didn???t even know if they were male or female. By now it was almost 10pm, so I figured it would be best if I just went to bed, and hopefully forget about everything by the morning. I awoke about 4 hours later to find myself in a tube full of goop. It drained moments later, and I noticed my brother Zephyr standing next to me, and in his basement.
???What the hell happened???? I scream at him,
???Where did you come from, How are you here???? I ask him.
???Well sis, I wanted to test out my new invention, through my laptop I???m able to input realistic images into your mind, sort of like a dream, only everything feels real, and you???re able to control your own actions, but all events are caused by me???.
???But how????
I ask, still unsure as to how it all works.
???Zelda, I needed a test subject for my prototype, and you were the best fit. You think that you???ve spent the last week and a half in the past, when really, you???ve spent the last 3 days inside of my invention???.

???I???m able to escalate time to any extent I like, and now thanks to you, the board is sure to approve my creation.???
