Looking back on what we were,
and on what we used to be,
there are things I can't remember.
Things I didn't see.

The fun times, I remember.
The good memories, I recall,
but the important things elude me.
I cant remember those at all.

I remember all the times we laughed,
all of the jokes we shared.
Can't think of a time you said you loved me.
Or told me that you cared.

I remember holding your hand in mine,
and kissing you goodbye.
But did you say you weren't using me,
while looking me in the eye?

I don't remember you asking me,
if I would be your world.
You just took what you wanted,
and found another girl.

I gave you many chances,
but name me just one time,
when you deserved the chance I gave you,
after you hurt me, the first time.

I cant think when I gave my heart,
all of it, too you.
But I know that when you gave it back,
it was broken into two.

Although I've tried to mend it,
the pieces dont quite fit.
Even though, you dont know,
you kept a little bit.

I've got a piece of yours too.
You dont know, but I can see,
In your eyes and in your smile,
that it belongs to me.
