In my spare time I like to write, so I've decided to post what I've been working on in this blog. I would love to hear your comments, as well.

Chapter 1

Running. That was the only thing on my mind. I could feel the soft dirt between my toes and the sticks stabbing my feet. Everything about this scene was d??j?? vu, but I couldn't figure out why. The trees zipped past me in a blur. I was afraid to turn around, but I had to know what was chasing me. I got a quick glance, but I couldn???t make out what they were. All I saw were three big brown figures. I knew my lungs would collapse soon, but I kept running as if my life was on the line ??? which is probably was. There was an opening in the trees, and I knew I would be safe if I could get to them. I couldn???t feel my legs anymore, and I could slowly feel them giving up the battle. There were about five strides between the opening and I. A tall figure was welcoming me; or, I hoped he was welcoming me. Suddenly there was a bright flash of light, and before I knew it, I was on the ground.

I jerked my head up, and hit my head on the shelf; that was at the foot of the bed. Rubbing my head, I glanced at the clock the said 3:47 A.M. in bright green numbers. It took me awhile to gather my thoughts, and separate what was real and what was fiction. Sighing in aggravation, I reorganized my bed. It was too early to be out and about in our huge house. I turned on my light and grabbed the book I started on last night. It doesn???t have a title, the only reason for that is so humans won???t read it, and find out more information about us. Grandma Galina had given it to me that last time she visited. She isn???t really my grandmother, but she is the closest thing any of us have to a grandmother, or a parent.

I tried to keep my eyes focused on the page, but I quickly dozed off. When I woke up again the clock read 11:23 A.M. I jumped out of bed, threw on some shorts and a tank top, and ran down stairs. On my way to the living room, I passed the kitchen and saw some strangers making sandwiches. Trying to be polite, I smiled at them, and the favor was given in return.

Jake, Jasper, and I allowed travelers to stay for however long they needed to. But, it isn???t like theses people are strangers; they are our kind. When I got to the living room, I saw Jake and Jasper watching a movie. I went over and sat down next to Jazz. ???Morning sleepy head,??? he told me, smiling. Still too tired to say anything, I just smiled at him. I rested my head on the couches armrest, and was half awake half asleep. Five minutes later Jake finally noticed me, and yelled, ???Lilly! You finally are up! I was getting worried. Did you have the dre-???? He almost said dream, but then remembered that I had told them both not to mention anything about my dream in front of the gests.

???Yes, I had it,??? I told him. His expression hardened. Jake was the most protective of me, and I could tell that this dream, no nightmare, is scaring him more that it is I.

Jake is my best friend; there is no doubt about that. We have been since we were nine. When we first met, I thought we were going to hate each other. We met in the woods near both of our ???families houses???. I was just walking around in the woods, when I saw a small boy staring ??? no glaring ??? at me. ???What???? I asked him, but he just kept glaring. I kept walking, feeling very uncomfortable. Sadly, I ran into him again, and he started yelling at me. He was saying how I should be here, and how this was his families land. Well, that made me angry, so I started yelling back at him. After probably five minutes of us screaming at each other, I started laughing uncontrollably. This whole thing was so pathetic I couldn???t help not to laugh. What made it even funnier is that his face had turned bright red, from either anger or embarrassment ??? maybe a little of both. At least it made him shut up. He mumbled something under his breath; it could have been ???bye???, and then shot off. I stood in the clearing awkwardly for what seemed like hours, and then decided to go home.

The next day I found him, and apologized for my behavior. I could tell he didn???t really forgive me, but he still did. By the end of the summer we had became best friends, because we were both lonely, and different than most kids.

One night when we were twelve, we were practicing our sorcery. Jake???s parents had finally decided we were old enough to get the basics down, but the only way we could practice was at night in the woods, as long as it wasn???t a full moon. Of course we didn???t understand why we couldn???t practice under a full moon, so one night we both snuck out and started practicing. It was probably about twelve when we heard a noise. It was heavy breathing. I threw my floating light globe in the air to get a better look of things, while it hovered. That was a mistake. Standing in front of us was the most terrifying werewolf. It had blood dripping from its fangs, and smelled like it hadn???t bathed in years!

I grabbed jakes hand, and yanked him toward the trees. We were running as fast as we could, and the Jake tripped. As he was getting up the werewolf had caught up with us. I was so scared that my heart was about to burst out of my chest. I didn???t want to die. Tears were streaming down my face. The werewolf jumped in the air, and landed on Jake. He screamed a scream that I will never be able to get out of my head. I couldn???t move. I had to save him! I blurted out one of the only spells I could remember; it was the spell of the fireball. I threw the fireball at the werewolf hoping I wouldn???t hurt Jake. It caught on fire, and was howling in pain. It yanked up and tried to come after me, but quickly became delirious. The werewolf fell on the ground twitching, and then all was silent. That was my first kill, at the time that was the least of my worries.

I ran to Jake. His arm was pouring out warm blood. I mumbled a simple healing spell, that would only heal the skin, not what was inside. I was exhausted; I had never used that much magic before. Feeling light headed, I lied down by Jake, hugging him as if that would make everything better. I knew what he had became, but I couldn???t accept that. We both had very little knowledge of werewolves. We knew that they transform every full moon. There was no turning back now. Jake was lucky I had acted quickly. It is rare that you survive a werewolf attack.

Dear Mara Friends,

First off I want to say I'M NOT QUTTING. I will still be on some, but I really won't talk much. I may just say hey in the club, and make some layouts for customers.

Now I would like to explain why. One, mara is not entertaining me like it used to. Two, I'm starting school soon, and I don't want to be as distracted as I was last year. And three, this year my schedule will be busy. This year I hope to make a club volleyball team, I will be in other activities, and there might not be much time for mara.

Who knows, maybe in three weeks I will be as addicted as I was last year.

Love,
Val

P.S. I would like all of the jerks out there to know that I'm not posting this for attention. I just want my friends to know why I'm not getting on anymore.
