Jo laughed harshly. "You'd be surprised." Then she explained, "Symbols can be drawn to protect anyone from demons, and holy water burns like acid when touching a demon. Holy wood, called Palo Santo, has the same effect. Rock salt is used as bullets to hold back ghosts or spirits. Spirits and demons cannot enter a room if salt is used as a barrier, poured around windows or doors."
