[center]Post what you think about having a Ban Meter, or a Strike System here on Mara.

The whole point of it is to have multiple chances. Once you hit so many offenses then you're done.
I know the site rules can be read easily but most people don't even bother.
With this system people will be able to have some chances to realize what they did was wrong and to not do it again.

For Example;

If a person were to leave their account logged in and walked away and a sibling decides to go run about the site causing problems.
Instead of an instant permanent ban, how about a temporary ban? Make sure they receive and email letting them know why they were punished, and for how long. Instead of letting them lose their mind and make another account and rant on forums and blogs.

It's a lot like when new seasonal events come out. You know when the pumpkins are around the site, if someone puts a fake one anywhere they are temporary frozen. They can be just like that.

The only ones dealing with these issues will be staff, not regular players.

The meters would only be view-able by the individual and staff only. No others will be able to view that person's account status

I think this is a great idea, but it has some flaws.
Even so, I'm all for it to see what would happen if it was implemented.

Totally agree, when my sister joined mara I sent her some clothes and some expensive items just to get her started up, and her account was banned, but I mailed them and it was sorted out. Also because my sister and I share an email account whenever I email staff they remind me that I'm not allowed to have multiple accounts, which is fair enough the first time, but they do it every time, and it gets really annoying having to explain myself each time

Love the idea. I was once frozen because my older sister left for university and decided to quit mara/ gave me all of her stuff. Luckily I could contact staff and sort it out, but mistakes like that happen all the time and people don't think and instead just create a new account.
