Kip ran as fast as he could. They were chasing him again. Baspinar's men. He ducked into the nearest cave and sighed. Kip sat still and quiet for a moment. Then he peeked out of the cave. They were gone, for now at least.

Kip was a full grown Love Fasoro. His father had died in a battle against Queen Eleka when he was still a boy. His mother had tried to care for him, but she could barely support herself. She had had no idea what to do. She just wanted what was best for Kip.

And for a few weeks, Kip's mother was very distraught, but Kip didn't know why. She worked late into the night nowadays, but there was barely enough food to keep them alive. So one day, Kip's mother gave Kip all the marapoints she had, along with three loaves of bread, two onions, and a sack with one strap that Kip put over his back to hold it all. She hugged him and whispered "I love you Kip. Take care of yourself." and left. No one had seen her since.

Since then, Kip had been on his own. He stole what he could to eat, and he had no friends. Well, none besides a small runt Fatty that would have been killed if Kip hadn't saved him. The Fatty lived and slept in the sack that his mother gave him, years ago. Kip had just been seen stealing a finely crafted dagger for sale in one of the shops. Luckily he had made a clean get away. This time, at least.
