History:
Desta grew up in a small pride to the only surviving cub in his litter. The pride may have been small, but was strong. As a cub the male never went hungry nor was there a time of fear. He was loved, well-protected, and taken care of. When he grew his grandfather, who led the pride, would teach him the ways of reading the land. Desta would turn out to be a quick learner, learning all the tips for tracking and surviving in the wilderness.

When he was mature he would leave his pride and set out to form his own. He'd stumble upon the Pride of Jua, where he would join and quickly rise into a leadership role was the former King was quite old. Desta would lead the Pide of Jua through many hardships, including traveling to new lands. This latest hardship has proven difficult for the male, however. He worries about the future of his pride and what will come of it during this drought.

History:
Akinyi was born into the Pride of Jua. Her parents were doting on both her and her brother Dalisto. During the time of her youth, her pride was well off and so she grew in relative peace. When she was an adolescent a terrible illness broke out in her pride. Both of her parents succumbed to it as well as many of the older and younger lions in the pride.

After their parent's death, her brother left the pride in hopes of creating a new pride. Akinyi did not follow him, however. Instead, she would stay with the Pride of Jua tending to those ill and helping out as much as she could.

Eventually, the sickness would end and the pride recovered. It left their numbers small, however. Now with the recent drought being a new threat, it's uncertain what will happen to Akinyi or the pride.

Leads:
Maximum of two if a pairing. The ones who lead the pride and keep things in order.

Hunters:
Unlimited spaces. Those who hunt and supply food for the pride.

Adolescents:
Unlimited spaces. Those no longer cubs and below the age of three years. Able to join hunts, but is mainly observing and learning.

Den Mothers:
Temporary role, only assigned when the pride has cubs. These lions watch over the cubs and keeps them safe.

Cubs:
Limited, must have a parental guardian(s). Will remain cubs until a year old. The future of the pride must be kept safe and accompanied at all times.

Note: Roleplay is not strict realism. Normally a pride of lions would be led by a single male or a collation of males. The rest of the pride are lionesses who hunt and raise young. I wanted to offer some freedom with this roleplay so specific genders are not restricted nor monitored in the pride. Ranks are minimum, however, to keep things simple.

ﾟ✧Current Plot✧ﾟ
An ongoing drought has been making the lives of those within the pride difficult. The savanna where they reside hasn't seen rain in many weeks. The watering holes that the pride frequent are almost gone. Only one pond remains which too has become shallow over the days of relentless heat and dry air. Prey has begun to become scarce as various local herds have begun to move. Those within the Pride of Jua have become restless as anxiety gnaws at their bellies. What will it take to survive? Will they need to move like the herds and leave the home they've had for many generations?
