Darren was a little different as a baby. His two front teeth were broken into 4 teeth that were normal size but yet the were extremely pointy and looked like fangs. Every dentist his parents took him to didn't know what was wrong. His parents, Maggie Ambler who was a short thin woman with long red hair that was always in a ponytail with her thick bangs hanging in her brown eyes. Her cheeks were always rosy on her light skin. Her husband Jason ambler was a tall strong man with glowing green eyes and messy brown hair on his head. The couple was young but worried about their only child who now broke out in scaley rashes. His rashes had pinkish red scales the were everywhere. The doctor said it was a curable disease ccalled -----. He gave them a lotion and they used it twice a day like it prescribed but the rash just wouldn't go away. Darren grew up the rash and teeth that made him have a underbite. No one ever called him a cute baby or a sweet litte toddler which made him feel horrible. He was only four but he understood almost anything and could read up to a fourth grade level. His math consited of multiplication and lower. He knew he was to smart for a normal child but his parents were so proud. Darren looked in the mirror and wondered himself about where the rashes had come from and why they were on him. Did he have a birth defect? He took a comb and brushed out his messy red/brown hair that hovered over his green eyes. He smiled and looked at his sharp teeth. "What is wrong with me?" he said aloud. Maggie walked in and picked up Darren."there is nothing wrong with you!" She laughed," Your perfect because you are so brilliant."She tickled him then sat him on the ground. She picked up the laundry on the ground and said "I love you!" as she left his room.
"Get up!First day of school! First day of school!" Jason playfully yelled to Darren. Darren jumped out of bed from the sound of Jason's voice. Darren threw on the outfit he planned the day before to make sure people would think he was cool. He ran down the stairs and sat down at the table. Maggie was making pancakes when she turned around and saw Darren sitting there with his messy hair. Darren was wearing a long sleeve shirt and jeans to cover his rash the just poped up on him yesterday morning. Maggie giggled at her son who was jumping up and down in his wooden chair. The table was set already and Maggie just set down the pile of pancakes on a plate in front of Darren. Jason walked in the front door holding the newspaper and sat down across from Darren. He gulped down his food and kissed Maggie and Darren good-bye and went through the front door to his job where he was a mecanical engineer. darren grabbed a two pancakes and poured more than plenty of surope on it. He gulped it down and ran to the bathroom and brushed his teeth and combed his newly cut hair. he picked oout a chapter book and stuffed it into his backpack and smiled in the mirror, his teeth were extremely white and his eyes were glowing with excitment. Maggie yelled to Darren, "We got to go! School's starting soon!" Darren ran down stairs and bumoed into Maggie. The walked through the front door and locked it. Darren came into class and met a few new people. His teacher was very nice and pretty and he quickly gained a A+ in his class.His reading level reached a seventh graders along with his math skills. One day at school he forgot about his rash and pulled up his sleeves and he smiled with his teeth. The kids began to call him a freak and he got made he blew a small gust of fire out his mouth and small wings popped out of his back. Maggie sped to the school when she heard what happened. She took Darren to the doctor and the doctor was confused. He had never seen this. The doctor said that darren might have Dragon powers which everyone knew was impossible. Jason didn't believe darren had dragon powers and every night Darren would hear his parents argue. It was terrible living here, he thought. He yanked open his window and kicked out his screen. Before he left he wrote a note that said, "I hate it when you fight and I know it is my fault. I will gain control of my powers if I have any but I will return human.Normal. I love you mom and dad. He flew as far away as he could until he collapsed on a mountain peak. Where he slept until morning when he flew away more until he came upon a field where two dragons were fighting.One was blowing ice the other fire. Darren was so excited to see dragons. He flew down on his little wings and ran right in front of them. They say a five-year old, that was the size of one of their front legs, running for them with small silver wings stuck on his back. The understood what was wrong and the Ice dragon spoke first. She looked down on the small dragon boy and said, Welcome child, why are you out here alone? Don't you know it is not safe for a developing dragon,like yourself." Darren jumped up and yelled sadly, "So I will become a dragon forever?" The ice dragon laughd but then she suddenly turned into a human. She was in her 40s and the fire dragon morphied into a human also. He was in his 20s it looked like. He said then in a low voice,"No you can transform into a human still but we like being dragons more." Darren sadly said can you teach me how to do everything because I promised my mom and dad I would come back home.Like a h-human and N-n-noraml. The woman transormed back into a dragon and said, "Get on my back young one." Darren jumped on her back and she flew into the air with the fire dragon following.
