Shalienne
In my dreams I can run
with the wind, in the sun
But I can't take the burning light
Like the owl and the bat,
like the wolf and the rat,
I am bound in the evernight

Evernight
I dwell in the evernight
So far from the world of day, away
And though I must say
I long for the day
No use putting up a fight
Our fate is the evernight

  • Shalienne 0 ShalienneThis is the beginning of a song from a play that I'm writing. The play is a tale of a vampire that falls in love with a mortal woman. In this scene the man is with an undead "friend" in a tavern patroned by vampires. He suffers because of the curse and loathes himself. His friend then sings a merry song (accompanied by the patrons) of all the "bright" sides of being undead.
