As the wind blows by A silent tear is shed No one knows it happens Only the girl who shed it She sits alone in her room And listens to the rain fall outside She wishes she were free of pain Instead she hides alone in her head Talking to no one but her teddy Remembering how life used to be Thinking about her parents Before they went away She remembers her mothers??? smile And the way her father laughed As she reminisces, she holds her teddy tight She stares out the window As the lightening flashes in the sky She remembers that day Her parents disappeared She remembers like it were just today They left right after dinner And said they???d be right back She thought nothing of it They did it all the time She???d have put up a huge fight If she???d known their fate for that night She waited up for hours At midnight she got scared So she ran right next-door To the friend she???s had for years She fell asleep by accident And awoke to a horrible surprise A knock at the front door Changed her life forever The cop said he was sorry But mom and dad were dead A drunk driver had hit them And killed them both on the spot She stood there for 20 minutes Unmovable and silent Then she fell down to her knees And cried her little eyes out She holds her teddy close And lays down on her bed ???It???s just another lonely day,??? she says And she cries herself to sleep
