There are many sites you can copy and paste html codes. Google things like "html code for background" "html code for image link" etc and eventually you will have them down pat from seeing it. Also look in to sites like marasight that has club or site builders and gives you the code and play with it. Take out bits of code and see what is removed, copy and paste sections to see how it changes your site. That is how I learned the basics.
