I see people on TV
When I can sneak it
That get kisses from mommy
And hugs from daddy.

One day I asked why they didn't
And they whipped me.
They call me stupid
Ugly and fatty.

I have to go to bed
at 6:45 evey night
or they hold me
under boiling water.

I want to call the police
but mommy says if I go near the phone
she will beat me for 2 hours
that I'm a dumb daughter

And when I cry they smack my face
They say that I'm a big disgrace
They don't let me leave the house
Because I want to run away.

I know I am good
They say I am bad
I don't have friends
And I'm here to stay.

I am not afraid to say
I hate them so much
they hate me too
An orphanage would be so nice

If they'd give me up
I'd be glad
I'm afraid here they'll kill me
If I was adopted, I'd rejoyce

Surley my new mommy would kiss me
And my new daddy would hug me
And my nightly smack would never happen
I would have more of a family then ever before

I'm a sad child named Lisa,
and I'm only four.
