Hi, so first things first, I will not be blogging every single day. The only day I will post a new entry is on Saturday, or if something interesting happened/I want to talk about something. Okay? And oh boy do I wanna talk about this movie.

Okay so we're gonna go through the basic plot first so spoilers ahead. The first thing we see is a live action thing with Jackie Chan and a small boy in a shop that Jackie Chan owns. A life lesson is taught and we get into the story. It starts off by showing us, Garmadon, our main villain (besides a cat). It also sets up that Lloyd is hated by 99% of the city, and that he's apart of a super cool ninja group that protects the city. A huge fight and daddy issues start to arise and Garmadon retreats to his volcano base, where he fires a lot of people. Stuff happens with some super cool ultimate weapon and Garmadon attacks again. Lloyd uses said weapon to try to defeat Garmadon when everyone realizes that they can't defeat him with their regular weapons. Lloyd accidentally causes the mass destruction of the city and everyone hates him now. (The groups teacher also dies but doesn't). Now they're on a quest to find the ultimate ultimate weapon. Garmadon follows them. Both groups collide and Garmadon makes the teams master fall off the bridge with a death butterfly. The team begrudgingly take Garmadon on their adventure. Then father-son stuff ensues as well as death volcanos. Everyone discovers that their true powers are inside of themselves, Lloyd makes up with his father and there's a giant cat in the city lounging around even though it caused a lot of chaos. The end.

Now that was a short, blunt, more comedic take on the story, but it was the best way to sum it up. So now here's a list of things I liked about the movie and things I didn't like.

On the list of poorly handled things there was the weird montage (?) things that didn't fit in (the weird stuff for the ultimate weapon, the ultimate ultimate weapon, and a ninja movie title marathon). How the more dramatic moments were handled, as well as the slow motion that was paired with them, and the live action parts. The live action was not really needed. I was very confused on those, like why does and old man have a wooden carving of a lego character? Why does he have lego pieces that pertained to the boys lego character? Does everyone know what lego ninjago is in this universe? So yeah, it was a weird moment that my tiny brain couldn't comprehend. A few more things pertaining to the characters were also confusing, like how the female character was riding a motorcycle in school. How and why? (I also personally disliked a fair amount of her jokes)

A few things I did enjoy though were things that pertained to the characters. Mainly Lloyd and his father (Garmadon). I liked how awkward and very teen like Lloyd was, and how his relationship with his father was. It was touching and almost made me cry. I also liked how Garmadon was very Hades like, and how he was a sarcastic, and somewhat funny villain. Lloyds relationship with his mom was really cute too.

Some things that would have made the movie better though was character development for the "side" characters. I know it's like an hour long, maybe two hour long movie, but I would have liked to see more of the other characters. Especially Jay, he's a scared child. A better way to handle some dramatic moments, and somewhat better jokes. I know that I'm probably not the demographic that the creators of the movie were aiming for, but still, they could have added a few more good jokes.

All in all, the movie wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't the best. It's good for younger children though so if you're ever baby sitting or taking care of your own child, this would be an okay movie for them.
