Back in May you said that you were working on the rest of the plushies. I have seen a few species finally get some plushies, but I am still waiting to see any Osafo Plushies. When are Minipets going to actually lose stats? ~animelover22 This week we are fixing EVERYTHING on the Marapets site and then we are starting on our network sites, like Marapets Email. Ian.. In an earlier Editorial you mentioned something about having a Platinum Version of Marasites, and you have mentioned also before about having the ability of FTP file access for movement of files between our Marasites and our own computers. I was wondering how soon this will be happening and if with the FTP will allow us to upload our images the same way. Talking of uploading of Images is there a possibility of allowing us to create subdirectories on our sites to allow us to sort and organize all of our different files. Right now my marauploads house a great number of files and is getting harder and harder to manage. Will the new FTP and Platinum Marasite allow us to combine the two areas into one so that our images can be stored with our marasite. I know this is alot of questions but trying to create a large marasite entails a great number of files, and the more files I get the harder it is to work with..... Then Marasites + Journals will be done, so it will be very soon. And it will allow you to upload images this way aswell as using MaraUploads - which will be receiving maintenance too soon! Don't you think it would be confusing to find things with so many worlds here? ~omniflucks We have 14 worlds now already and its not confusing at all. But realisticly we'll probably never reach that many, although 6 worlds are already sketched and 10 more are planned. How come you keep making more costumes when a lot of the costumes can only be used for 2 or 3 pets? ~licketysplitlaura Because we have a very strange way of doing updates right now. We like to pick sections of the site to work on for the month and do a lot of work for them and only a small amount of work on others. Pet colours hasn't been top of the list for a while now, so we only have a few being released, usually new costumes. But in a few weeks we'll most likely release a lot of new colours for every pet. If so how do you imagine it? ~ro307102005 I can obviously see Marapets still being around in 10 years time and obviously at the rate its growing it should have a huge amount of content - think 2 games a week x 52 weeks in a year and then x 10 years! I can see it being very different though because a person changes a lot in 10 years so the type of content might be very different. I'm sure many people will ask this in the editorial, but what are you planning for the two new locations in Jenoa? The Millionaire's Lodge and The Aquarium? Why is there no quest count for computer repair quests? ~lupe_dee_dupe There is a counter for all quests and all missions, but because profiles are in such a need for maintenance work, they will not be added until we get around to redesigning them. There isn't a reason why, we just want to fill up all of the worlds. I want all worlds to be fully packed with interesting and unpredictable content. What are the Wallpapers for near Baspinar's Castle? I first figured they could be for your computer, but it could be for marahomes. ~its_me_123 We never even thought about wallpapers for computers, but its on our list now for somewhere else. It is actually for marahomes, for those who do not want plain colour walls. You can buy fancy designed wallpaper for your marahomes's walls. What is that shop that isn't open in the Dukka Caves? ~Nikayla95 It will be a shoe shop for characters. I've been forum banned becuase of advertising my finished Marapets toolbar. I've worked so hard on it yet you Forum banned my anyway. Many people loved the idea. So Why? ~Flowen I'm glad you asked because although you read the Maramail Warning I sent you, you continued to post the same topic until I forum banned you. Marapets belongs to us and not you, so you have no right to create a toolbar using a free site and advertising it on our site, you need to request permission first. Secondly, you were getting members to download a program, which could have been a virus or anything and with Marapets being to blame for it. Finally, these toolbars are free for a reason - they are flooded with adverts and spyware and you shouldn't install them. I wonder how many people love the idea of installing it when they find out what they are like and how difficult they are to remove. What side will the Mini Pet Island and Jenoa be on? It could be a major deciding factor on what side people fight for. ~softballmania09 Minipet Island is neutral because minipets can't fight, they live in the wild. Jenoa is underwater, only Underwater pets, Mermaid pets, Equilors and Paffutos can fight underwater! You mentioned in the last editorial that lookups are going under drastic changes. Will we ever have the option of the amount of money we are carrying or who we're Marafriends with? That's information I don't want to share with all of Marada, and it would be great if I didn't have to. ~seminole The Marapals are going to be removed because I don't like it. But the MP has been there since we opened and remains there for a reason - Security. Most scams are a lot less successful when the user can see that the scammer does not have the MP they promise to give. But it will be Quell related. Do you have any plans for new weapons? Anything stronger than Flaming Axe? ~SeiferAlmasy Weapons are being changed for the new Battle Arena. There will be much, much, much stronger weapons but you might not be able to use a specific weapon - you will need specific stats for them. For example, your pet may need 3 strength points before it can equip a specific sword. Is there going to be a funeral center where your pet dies? ~sugar55 Nice idea, but there won't be. We are changing the way pets die this week hopefully. Basically, we will increase the chance of a pet dying completely so its much easier for them to die if neglected, right now its almost impossible. However, once a pet dies for a week it will go to a new place in Undying Woods (not the Graveyard) for a whole week where you can buy back the zombie pet for 25,000-50,000MP. After this week has passed, the pet will then go to the Graveyard where ANYONE can save it. Because mara would not be the same without you on. ~sweet_girl89 I haven't got the choice yet. Marapets can't afford to hire me because it doesn't make any profits yet. Oracle database software is $32,000 a year and the server we bought for Oracle cost $29,500. If it does start to make a profit when the amount of players online increases then it will become my full time job for the rest of the year. If not I'll be doing part time unpaid work and get a job :) Why are the account upgrades there? And do you have to upgrade your account or is it optional? ~mystic00ember Marapets is 100% free (for anyone who follows our terms & conditions) to play. Account Upgrades are there for the site to make income to pay for the very high cost for it to run. Its not cheap running all of the servers, paying for the licences for the software on it, paying a full time artist and flash game artist and paying for 2 games to be made every week. That doesn't even include the amount we spend on advertising and the cost of other things like domain names and paying for the services of some people. Everyday something dosnt work, are you reformating certain parts or does it like tormenting up when it says all my avatars are gone ~moondownelf Marapets has spent almost 2 months on 2 sites without the users knowing. One which is the site you play on and another that I've been working on, recoding so it works with the new system. Sometimes I recoded something to work on the new system and uploaded it to the site you are playing, breaking it. It might have been very annoying for players to have some areas of the site down, but we knew it would only be for two weeks. The site has moved to the new system and all of these bugs are very quickly being fixed. I hope to have EVERYTHING fixed on this site by the end of next week and then start on the network sites. All I can say is sorry and thanks for your patience, you'll be pleased in a few weeks with how well the site runs. I love playing marapets but quite recently I have had problems recieving the images from the site, with maps, avatars and icons showing as little white boxes with the evil red crosses. I was told to cleare my browser cache, cookies and restart my internet connection and all of these have failed to help. This only happens every other day, so it works one day but the day after I won't be able to see any images. This only happens on marapets and no other internet site. Is this a problem with my computer, my internet browser or marapets itself? Thanks ~Greendaymaniac Because we have a lot more than one image server, we have some with out of date content and therefore some images are missing. This is because sometimes one of the servers crashes and doesn't work and I can't not release news because of the servers are down. Then when its back online I sometimes forget to upload the missing images to the server. The image servers are being moved to their new system very soon so this should be fixed then. Sorry! Will the upgrade instruments be avaiable anywhere on the site ? ~lipipure Maybe in a couple of weeks/months they may turn up somewhere. They'll be very very rare and limited though. Is the new plot going to somewhat based off of Narnia? It seems like it is. ~Puglover I haven't seen it yet so I can't answer that. I still haven't sat down to watch Lord of the Rings either! For March Account Upgrades, do they stay Archive until August 1st, or are they removed sooner? ~rubydragonfire1996 They will be avaliable until the August upgrades are released. This will not be before the August 1st but sometimes it may take several days for upgrades to be released, depending on how busy we had been before that. What benefits are going to be given to people that do not block the ads on this site? ~Golfie We are anti-adblockers right now because the site stays free because of adverts and they help pay for the site. If every player who adblocks turned it off, we would have a lot more to invest back into the site without it being much of a difference to you. But obviously some people are very anti adverts and therefore adblock, so instead of penalising those who adblock we will be rewarding those who don't. Baspinar's Castle is one of the ways we will reward members and when the new Random Events are released, those who do not adblock will have 250% more chance of getting a Random Event. Just like Account Upgrades benefit members, those who do not adblock will also benefit members so Laimay and I think its fair. |
