In the summer they will be. We still have more plans for Marahomes, such as being able to sell furnished homes in a place like the Trading Post and a new quest where you have to build and furnish your home in a certain way to get a prize. When we are happy with the amount of items released for Marahomes, we will release those features and then start on Gardens. Ok, I have an idea, The almighty HOBO COSTUME!! Since once the upgrade is gone it is retired and I think retiring pets is an awfull idea. Since you can not sell pets for points or items so why make them retired? ~specter208 The Ercuw, Chibs, Quell, Sindi and any other limited edition pets not released as a mission will never be avaliable from a mission. We release new limited edition pets for missions. How long does it take Laimay to draw a new pet/pet colour on the computer? ~will3456142 Once we have a new idea for a pet, Laimay will sketch it a few times until we are happy with it. This took an hour for the Ercuw, but only 15 minutes for the Sindi. She can then line and colour the pet for the following day. Depending on the detail of a new pet colour, it can take her anytime between 30 and 90 minutes. This is including the battle pose. How old were you and Laimay when Mara was first created? ~cherrythecomputer When we first started I was 14 and Laimay was 18. When we opened I was 15 and Laimay was almost 19. Why do the black gonks not have the teeth, while the other coloured Gonks have the teeth? ~wyntergirlsis The Gonk was designed as a minipet to be given away with an Email Newsletter. Then for April Fools we thought it would be funny to turn it into a fake pet and release with a silly tooth. We never intended to release it, but with the hundreds of tickets and forum topics of people wanting one, we did. Laimay removed the tooth because we like it better without it. The Easter Egg Hunt was cool! Will you do it again? ~karavan500 Glad you liked it! We do it every year starting on Easter Sunday. We started it last year because most other sites avoid doing anything big Easter related because of other religions, but they can still join in and enjoy it! (I love the attic search) ~iammom Our items servers are already being used to their limits so it was difficult to get the Attic Search added. But we'll be moving from Mysql (free database software) to Oracle ($32,000 a year database software) which will permanently fix the items problem. Hopefully then we can add more search features around the site. What is your favorite marapet? ~catsy Definately the Knutt! I love the Recycled Knutt and the Knutt used at Marapets Email. Second favourite is the Ercuw. Why do you have so many Zombie Pets? ~Ojama Most of my pets died while I was coding the dying feature  I've changed all of my pets now though..
How long is MaraPets usually down for Maitenance? ~tenniswinner Depends. Planned maintenance the length of downtime is usually estimated (even if its often underestimated and takes longer). But when the site goes offline unexpected, it takes as long as it takes for me or the server company to fix. We always get it online as quick as possible - a blue star from each time zone can also email me at my mobile/cell phone if I'm offline and I come online as quick as possible (even at 3AM). I am currently apalled with "Marapets" these days. I assure you I'm not being harsh but then again yes I am. You see I don't think the management is secure and the layout lacks a lot to be desired. The games are stupid here. The graphics suck. The search browser is slow as crap. And the events are poor. I am stcking up for the best pet site in the world nad frankly, IM CALLIN U OUT! ~cenaishotbaby Laimay and I are very happy that you like it here. We delayed it because the quote we got was expensive but we should have it paid by the end of June and then it will take around 3 months to complete. Anytime after that it could be released, but we'll need to test it and prepare other things for it. But definately will be here in 2006 because I have no patience. How did you come up with the name Marapets for the site? ~ChewToy Ever since we started, we wanted the virtual pet site to be as "virtual" as possible and always intended for pets to die if neglected, because it makes sense. So to look for names we googled words like "death" (wouldn't recommend searching it) and then mara eventually showed up. I think it means death in a certain language. How deeply does Marapets affect your life? In other words: how much time do you spend fixing and coming up with new ideas? ~Jash I'd like to say it doesn't but it does. I'd say that on average 6 hours of work is done every day. Not exactly 6 hours every day, because I do have college and I'm always out. But theres been a lot of times where I've stayed home and started work at 9AM and not finished until 6AM the next day. Laimay does around the same, but she doesn't work on Sundays so works more on the other days. Are you planning any big surprises for the future? ~HippyiChick Always

When are we going to see Baspinar and the inside of Baspinar's Castle? ~baroque The ideas for inside the castle were planned months ago and the sketch has already been completed. It won't be released for quite a few weeks though, we are trying to release a lot more items first. And last month, for the whole of April, we did just over 103 million page views. If thats not being successful I'm not sure what is. It's it true that you can get Maramarried? Have started to take 10% of their MP if I catch them twice. Are the word Marada and the pet species Azul based on the spanish 'morodo' meaning 'purple' and the colour blue? Just wondering! ~Torika Yea, I was in Portugal when I named the Azul. But its the same in Portugese and Spanish. Marada was just the only world name with Mara at the start that sounded alright. When will Undead Billiards be working again? I'm quite good at that game and I like it =) ~australian_princess The flash games have nothing to do with me, we have a team of flash programmers hired to do them. We also now have a team of artists hired just for the flash games so Laimay has more time for the site's art. But to answer the question, soon I hope. Catching them online is difficult because they are online while I should be asleep. What do you usually do away from marapets on your Summer Vacation?
